a friend of mine called artist @gomigomipomi (a popular splatoon artist) out for whitewashing splatoon’s marina, gomi responded by idiotically accusing my friend of “blackwashing” pearl for drawing pearl as black (so they believe in reverse oppression lol), and siccing their huge followerbase on her. she is now receiving massive amounts of vile racist messages.

He slept with naked underage girls to test his celibacy and degraded them to mere sex objects. He talked foul things about his own wife, said that menstruation was the manifestation of the distortion of a woman’s soul, and yet he’s praised by the world for ‘bringing peace’.

He also regularly beat his wife, he was extremely antiblack and a vocal supporter of apartheid in South Africa, and said during the Holocaust that Jews should commit mass suicide to shame the Germans instead of resisting. And this is just for starters.

i feel a lot of people don’t understand the mistrust that many mentally ill/chronically ill/disabled people have towards healthcare practitioners.
it’s something that comes from years of misdiagnosis. the multiple doctors you meet who just don’t care. who accuse you of faking. who don’t take you or your symptoms seriously. whose own prejudices blind them to your plight. who belittle you. mock you. condescend to you. who don’t listen to you. who are lazy, cruel, uninformed.
i think it is so worth it to keep looking for doctors until you find the right fit because when you (finally) meet a doctor who gets it, who understands, and can treat you and help make things better or at least manageable and bearable, it’s a breath of fresh air.
but even so i really think we need to stop being so hard on people who are wary of doctors. sometimes they’re wary for a reason.

If you faint while aboard the SS Anne, you can return there again, and the ship won’t depart after you’ve helped the captain. Return to the docks later in the game once you have access to Surf and Strength, because if you use Strength on the truck on the right side of the dock area, you will get Mew! Thank me later, I learned this cool trick from my uncle who works at Nintendo.

Since the new games are going to be Kanto again, bringing back this very vital and important piece of knowledge for you all.

As of July 4th 2018, the Internet as we know it might be dead for good.
The European Parliament is passing a new Copyright Directive.
Article 13 #CensorshipMachine will impose widespread censorship of all the content we share online. Art, fanfiction, parodies, remixes, mashups, memes, etc.. Anything that you do not hold the rights over will be taken down.
Article 13 would force all online platforms to police and prevent the uploading of copyrighted content, or make people seek the correct licenses to post that content. Internet platforms hosting large amounts of user-uploaded content must monitor user behaviour and filter their contributions to identify and prevent copyright infringement.
Such filters will be mandatory for platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit and Instagram, but also much smaller websites.

This doesn’t just affect Europe. The content creators you love are going to be in hot water for sharing their art and writing with you online. Any and all content that doesn’t belong to us will be filtered. Even memes are at risk, as the person who took the original photo may want to file complaints against any platform that allows it to be used without permission. But it goes even further than that.
Last Tuesday (19th June 2018) a group of more than 70 people who have played important roles in building the internet and developing it (Tim Berners-Lee, Vincent Cerf, Jimmy Wales, Mitchell Baker…) into what it is today addressed an open letter to the members of the European Parliament:
“As creators ourselves, we share the concern that there should be a fair distribution of revenues from the online use of copyright works, that benefits creators, publishers, and platforms alike.
But Article 13 is not the right way to achieve this. By requiring Internet platforms to perform automatic filtering all of the content that their users upload, Article 13 takes an unprecedented step towards the transformation of the Internet from an open platform for sharing and innovation, into a tool for the automated surveillance and control of its users. […] The damage that this may do to the free and open Internet as we know it is hard to predict, but in our opinions could be substantial.”

For those who don’t know, MAP stands for Minor Attracted Person, more commonly known as a pedophile. My husband and myself have served in the military. When we call home from overseas, our lines are monitored and on a short delay so no sensitive information is revealed. The line will just go dead if you say something you’re not supposed to.

Now, these calls are monitored by a department in the military called Signal corps. When we’d talk on my husband’s last deployment, we had a running joke that we said hi to “Signal Guy Fred.”

So this continued for his entire 12 month deployment, and we made sure we said hi or bye to “Signal Guy Fred” every phone call. On his final phone call before returning home we made sure to thank “Signal Guy Fred” for his time and wish him farewell.

So, before I disconnect the call, I wish “Fred” the best and thank him for his service. My phone was on speaker mode (I was cooking dinner) and my finger was hovering over the end call button when I hear the softest little, “My name’s Jason.”
